3 ESSENTIAL AYURVEDIC PRACTICES FOR BEGINNERS

When I first discovered Ayurveda, I’ll admit — it felt overwhelming.

So many rituals. So many rules. So many things to do.

I remember thinking — Do we really have time for all this? We’re already spinning through a pinwheel of tasks, messages, and responsibilities. Why add more to the list?

But as the months passed, I began to realize something profound: Ayurveda isn’t about adding more to your day — it’s about adding more LIFE to your day.

For instance, waking up to your phone screen can strain your eyes, stimulate anxiety, and fill your mind with noise before the day begins. But shifting that start — to a gentle gratitude mantra, a cleansing routine, and Abhyanga (self-massage with warm oil) — can give your body and mind an entirely new perspective on life.

Ayurveda calls this Dinacharya.

·       “Din” means day

·       “Charya” means routine or regimen

Together, Dinacharya is the daily routine that nourishes your body & mind.

The Charaka Samhita, one of the foundational Ayurvedic texts (written around 300 BCE), emphasizes that “one who follows a proper daily regimen lives a healthy life free from diseases.” (Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana 5.15).

You don’t need to do everything at once. START SIMPLE. Below are three easy ways to begin your Dinacharya practice:

So the real question isn’t, “Do we have time for this?”
The real question is, “Do we have time for our health & wellbeing?”
